The Quiet Case's shell will outlive the lining by years, which is by design: the lining is the part that meets the objects, and fabric that meets objects wears. This is the spare, cut to the same pattern, in the same grey brushed nylon, with the same hand-wash rules.
It costs almost nothing and exists because asking someone to buy a whole case because the inside got tired is the kind of thing that makes a catalogue feel like a shop rather than a maker. Swap takes two minutes: peel the old one from the foam bed, press the new one in at the corners first.
Why this piece exists
The Case Liner exists because of a warranty conversation we did not want to have. The Quiet Case's shell is rated for a decade; the lining is fabric meeting objects weekly, and fabric wears at two to three years. The old-world answer is 'buy a new case'. The answer we shipped is an £18 lining and a two-minute swap — peel the old at the corners, press the new, done.
It is the same brushed nylon as the factory fit, cut on the same pattern, sewn by the same seamstress. We considered a colour option and rejected it: a grey lining in a grey case is the point, and a coloured liner turns a privacy object into a statement every time it opens. Discretion is not the moment for self-expression.

Use and care
Everything we know about keeping it.
Use
Swap when the old lining holds a smell after a wash or shows wear at the corners. Both events are normal at around the two-year mark of weekly use.
Not for
The felt beds of First Light or Atelier No. 1 — different patterns entirely, and the foam beds differ.
Storage
Store it flat, not folded: a crease set into brushed nylon never fully leaves.
Long-term
The liner is a consumable with a decade of spare parts behind it: we will stock it as long as we stock the case, and the two belong to the same promise. Wash the liner cool, air dry flat, and never machine dry — the brushed nap is the comfort and heat is what flattens it. A crease set into stored nylon never leaves, so store flat under the case's foam bed, not folded in a drawer.
Material safety. Platinum-cured silicone, phthalate-free, non-porous. Clean with warm water and mild unscented soap or a silicone-safe cleanser; avoid alcohol and silicone-based lubricants, which dull a matte finish and can leave a film. Full detail in the materials guide.
