Most water-based lubricants are built to feel like nothing, which is why they end up sticky twenty minutes later. Silk Ritual is built to feel like water and stay that way: six ingredients, no glycerine, pH balanced to 4.5, and a pump that gives the same amount every time instead of a squeeze bottle that delivers a puddle.
It is compatible with silicone, latex, and polyisoprene, and it rinses clean with water alone. The 150 ml bottle is the size that lasts about three months with regular use.
Why this piece exists
Silk Ritual took the longest to formulate and is the least glamorous thing we make. The brief was brutal: six ingredients, no glycerine, pH 4.5, no fragrance, non-tacky after twenty minutes, and it had to feel like water rather than like a product. Version nine was the first one that passed all six tests, and it is the one we sell.
The pump is the detail people comment on most. Squeeze bottles deliver a puddle, tubes are undignified, and sachets end up in hotel bins. Our pump meters 2 ml every time, which is the amount most uses actually need, and the nozzle is cut so it does not string or drip after use. It is the kind of boring engineering that makes a product feel considered in the hand.

Use and care

Use
One pump is roughly 2 ml, which is the right amount for most uses. Apply to the body rather than to the object, and reapply with water rather than more product if it starts to drag — a few drops of water reactivate the gel.
Cleaning
Rinses with warm water. On silicone objects, follow with a silicone-safe cleanser if the surface feels slippery. Do not use with oil-based products in the same session; the mixture is difficult to rinse and can leave residue.
Storage
Keep the pump closed and the bottle upright. The preservative system is mild by design, so do not introduce water into the bottle or decant into an unwashed container. Discard six months after opening.
Long-term
The preservative system is deliberately mild, which means the bottle is honest about its limits: six months after opening, discard it, even if there is product left. Do not top the bottle up from another container and do not add water — both introduce the microbes the preservative is sized for. If the gel ever separates or smells sharp, that is the formulation telling you it has finished, not something to shake back together.
Material safety. Platinum-cured silicone, phthalate-free, non-porous. Clean with warm water and mild unscented soap or a silicone-safe cleanser; avoid alcohol and silicone-based lubricants, which dull a matte finish and can leave a film. Full detail in the materials guide.
