The Storage Roll is what a makeup roll would be if it were honest about its job: dark grey fabric, five pockets of two depths, a flap that covers the tops, and a black ribbon tie. Open it on a bed and everything is visible; roll it up and everything is contained; stand it in a drawer and it is a drawer organiser that travels.
We made it because the Quiet Case holds two pieces and some people own five. The pockets are cut to our pieces' widths — not generic — so nothing tips out when the roll is picked up, and the flap means the first drawer inspection of a shared bedroom finds folded fabric, which is what it looks like.
Why this piece exists
The Storage Roll is for the five-piece household that outgrew the Quiet Case and the drawer at the same time. Dark grey coated canvas, five pockets cut to our pieces' widths — not generic widths — a flap that covers the tops, and a grosgrain tie. Open on a bed it is a display; rolled it is a cylinder that stands in a corner; stood in a drawer it is an organiser.
The pocket widths are the detail that makes it ours: three at 28 mm for the slim pieces, one at 40 mm for the medium, one open bay for the thing we have not made yet. A roll with generic pockets tips its contents out the first time you pick it up rolled, and the first time you pick it up rolled is the last time you trust it.

Use and care

Use
Pocket the pieces dry, flap over, roll from the left, tie. The flap covers the tops so nothing dusts.
Not for
Damp storage — the coated canvas is water-resistant, not breathable, and the dry-before-storing rule applies with interest here.
Storage
It is the storage. Wash it twice a year, dry it open overnight, and the roll keeps its shape.
Long-term
The coated canvas ages by whitening at the fold lines, which is the coating flexing rather than failing — water resistance stays. Wash twice a year by hand, cold, and dry it open overnight; the one rule with teeth is dry-before-storing, doubled here because a sealed roll is a sealed environment. The grosgrain tie is attached so it cannot be lost, and after a few years it frays at the tip, which is what ribbon does — a match stops it.
Material safety. Platinum-cured silicone, phthalate-free, non-porous. Clean with warm water and mild unscented soap or a silicone-safe cleanser; avoid alcohol and silicone-based lubricants, which dull a matte finish and can leave a film. Full detail in the materials guide.
